it’s times like this you need a camera phone

I left Hobby Lobby yesterday (many fab finds for a total of $5!) and returned to our car… and totally found this hippo parked hood-to-hood with me! It was half curiousity half amazing half creepy to see a large hippo with eyelashes longer than my son’s forearms staring at me. I wished I had a camera, but then a quick search of the internet just now yielded pictures (I wish they were way bigger to do it justice; seriously the eyes were real) for you to see!

What did we ever do without the internet? All the world’s hippo cars would go unexplained…

this just in

I am finally invited to a party thrown by the fabulous and famous Lara Sorich! (I guess minus that she did our wedding open house - minor detail, right?) It’s true; I’ll be lucky enough to be in town for the annual halloween party. Halloween has never been my huge cup of tea, but last year’s photos made me wish it were. Now that I have a son who is too small to have a say and I get to dress him any which way that I find over-the-top adorable, I’m thinking maybe this holiday has more going for it than I thought. My excitement for my trip has now tripled.

Soooooo, your ideas please! What should Max be for halloween?

I might use my own idea, but if you have the most awesome idea and I use it, I will mail you a free giveaway from my to-be-Etsy shop! Once it’s open :) So let’s hear ‘em!

and oh how sweet it is

This will be the first time in seven years I get to spend an autumn in New England. I need this. And the best part is it’s free. And the best part is I get to introduce my son to hoodies and pumpkins and clean air and leaves. And the best part is that we’ll be there long enough to DO things. And the best part is that when we get back, Trevor is taking a whole week of vacation to be with us. And the best part is that it’s only one month away!
