WIDE AWAKE
The kid does not take naps. I finally got sick of it and spent the better part of three hours today with the sole focus of getting him to sleep. Nothin. He cried, we read stories, he tried to eat the stories, I sang him songs, rocked him, he ate, but after letting him cry in his crib for quite a while, I went back in twice with the intention of rubbing his stomach until he calmed down. Each time all he would do is stop crying and laugh at me - like, ha ha, fooled you, Mom! - and play games with his blanket.
I am all about prevention rather than solutions after a problem arises. It’s why I try so hard to always be prepared. I have foreseen and prevented many an issue with regards to this boy, but this is one I must say I never considered. Which is probably why it is now mine to deal with. How on earth are you supposed to get things done when you have a child who does not take naps??!

Oh, but he is SOOOO cute! Look at that face. How could anyone ever be mad at him? He just doesn’t want to miss out on any of the fun.

welcome to my motherhood world! So glad to know I’m not the only one out there with awake babies! (Brooke does way better than Viana, but now there’s two of them, so that doesn’t mean too much!) Viana was never a napper. My dear friends child would take 2, 3 hour naps a day. She never understood how I survived with a baby who did not sleep. I don’t know how I did it either! You just make it work!!

Way to be Max, never give in on wasting away your day taking a nap! Stand strong kiddo! The only thing I might suggest to ya Max is that if you ever feel a little bit drowsy, you might consider taking a 20 minute power nap. Just tell your mom to set an alarm for you. That way you wake up feeling better and reenergized and full of life instead of worse and all groggy. And you still have a lot of daylight left to play!
